LNUR 2245 - Intermediate Adult Medical-Surgical Nursing A Credit Hours: 1.50 Prerequisites: LNUR 1345 , LNUR 1355 , and LNUR 1365 all with grade C or better, or grade Pass (if course is a Pass/Fail course)
Corequisites: LNUR 2265
This theory course focuses on following safe, culturally diverse, patient-centered nursing care in the role of the licensed practical nurse. Medical/Surgical patients with a variety of health issues and co- morbidities will be discussed. Care will revolve around using evidence-based practice and quality improvement techniques to develop vital skills in caring for patients and their families.

- Apply the nursing process for patients with medical/surgical conditions.
- Under the LPN scope of practice, perform assessment and data collection of subjective and objective data for patients with medical/surgical conditions.
- Report data received from assessment to the interdisciplinary team.
- Under the direction of the interdisciplinary team, implement evidence-based interventions for the patient with medical/surgical conditions.
