EMSA 2580 - Paramedic Lab 2

Prerequisites: Admission into the Emergency Medical Services - Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic Program; EMSA 2530  with grade C or better

Corequisites: EMSA 2565 , EMSA 2570 , and EMSA 2612  

(formerly EMTC 2580)

This course covers practical applications for Paramedic Lecture 3 and 4.

OUTCOMES AND OBJECTIVES
Outcome 1:
Upon completion of this course, students will refine their management of the cardiac patient.

Objectives:
Students will:

  1. Naturalize the cardiac assessment.
  2. Identify the EKG when provided with both dynamic and static strips.
  3. Demonstrate management of the cardiac patient.

Outcome 2:
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to provide total patient management for any patient condition that has been covered by the core material.

Objectives:
Students will:

  1. Demonstrate the ability to select then conduct the appropriate focused assessment.
  2. Demonstrate patient management for any condition covered by the core material.

Outcome 3: Upon completion of this course, students will prepare and/or practice for subsequent practical evaluations.

Objectives:
Students will:

  1. Demonstrate proficiency with current ACLS algorithms.
  2. Demonstrate proficiency in practical exam stations.
