Upon successful completion of this program you will receive a Workforce & Continuing Education Medication Aide certificate and become eligible to take State of Michigan Medication Aide competency examination. Successful candidates passing both parts of the competency examination to meet the Michigan License and Regulatory Agency requirements will receive a permit and become a certified Medication Aide (MA-C) in Michigan. Prior to enrolling, students must take a Work-Keys reading and math test at their own expense or provide other proof of competency.
Prerequisites: Prior to the first day of class, students must provide proof of 1 year recent long-term care employment, copy of CNA license in good standing, and an up-to-date TB test. Prior to clinical practice, students must pass the classroom exams, pass the lab practice skills and obtain CPR certification.
