WHES 2096 - Ethics, Legal Issues & Marketing for Health & Wellness Coaching Credit Hours: 3.00 Prerequisites: WHES 2094
Students will prepare to enter the market. Students will prepare assessments and contracts and train for standards, ethics, and legal issues within the coaching arena. The student will prepare for marketing strategies including the use of digital tools, referral strategies, and support for the coach with NBHWC and NWI. The student will continue to refine and master skills through practice with peers.

OUTCOMES AND OBJECTIVES Outcome 1: Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to summarize the ethical codes and scope of practice of the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching (NBHWC).
Objectives:
- Discuss each part of the NBHWC Code of Ethics.
- Discriminate between ethical and unethical behavior in coaching situations.
- Identify the possible legal issues that can occur in the health and wellness coaching environment.
Outcome 2: Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to develop social media and marketing strategies.
Objectives:
- Identify the components for a new coaching business.
- Examine a variety of social media sources used as marketing platforms.
- Examine a variety of website building resources as part of marketing strategies.
- Create a marketing strategy using social media and/or a website for their coaching business.
Outcome 3: Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to continue constructing a health and wellness coaching portfolio.

- Create a coaching contract for practice sessions.
- Develop an initial business plan for their business.
- Develop a marketing strategy for their business.
