Program Description:

The Information Technology-Programming for Electronic Games - will allow students who are interested in programming techniques used in the electronic gaming industry to gain critical base line skills in techniques involved in the programming of electronic games and simulation applications.  Students will learn about trends and career opportunities in the electronic games industry.  Students will learn skills necessary to viable developers in a myriad of programming fields.  These skills may be applied in the advertising industry has realized the value of electronic games to assist in the marketing of products and services.  There has been an explosion of internet/mobile games in a race to capture customer loyalty and persistence, games that have been developed using object oriented programming.  Game development tools using Universal Modeling Language (UML) tools.   

Program Outcomes:

Upon completion of this program, the student will be able to:

1. Employ logic when programming electronic games .

2. Manipulate data in a gaming environment.

3. Develop a game plot.

4. Implement character development.

5  Practice methods to solve visual problems, approaching them systematically and exploring solutions.

6. Create and plan a game.

7. Utilize functions and object-oriented programming concepts during game development.
