Program Description:
The Media & Communication Arts-Collaborative Media program provides training in all Media and Communication Arts specialties. Students learn the basics skills inherent within the specialized fields of illustration, photo imaging, design, Web/interactive, digital video, and animation. This program was designed to offer students a collaborative Associate Degree or Certificate as an overview of the MACA programs.
Program Outcomes:
Upon completion of this program, the student will be able to:
1. Demonstrate computer skills for the media and communication arts industry.
2. Apply the fundamentals of art and design.
3. Demonstrate critical and analytical thinking within a design-art context.
4. Demonstrate visual, presentation, and communication skills necessary for successful employment in the media and communication arts industry.
5. Demonstrate entry-level skills in a rapidly changing media and communication arts industry.
6. Apply mathematical concepts indicative of the media and communication arts industry.
7. Demonstrate a professional work ethic.
8. Examine the basics of the Internet, web pages, and web graphics.
9. Execute basic animation, polygonal, modeling, and rendering practice methods to solve problems, approaching them systematically and exploring solutions.

Students intending to transfer and complete a bachelor’s degree need to make early decisions concerning an academic major and a transfer destination. Statistics show that students who make these decisions early are more likely to persist to graduation than their undecided counterparts.
