BSNS-8027 Building and Maintaining Relationships in The Workplace

Prerequisites None
Participants will learn relationship building skills of developing a rapport, establishing trust, and improving emotional intelligence. The course outlines techniques that include the selection of a network, establishing the purpose of a relationship, and maintaining new connections. Organizational barriers that impact relationship building, such as company culture and employee turnover, will be discussed.  This course is geared toward individual contributors and those new to leadership roles. The skills and techniques are applicable to both remote and onsite working environments.  The course is interactive and contains an opportunity for self-reflection and to create a personalized action plan to improve the quality of working relationships.

Evaluation
Students will confidentially evaluate this course by completing the Student Evaluation of Class form distributed at the last class session.

Successful Completion
The instructor will evaluate the student’s skills learned using attendance, participation, feedback, testing where appropriate, and projects completed.

100 % attendance is required; 100% attendance is recommended, as no special arrangements will be made for missing class.

% = 2 hours.

Upon successful completion, this course will appear on the student’s Macomb Community College non-credit transcript.
