BSNS-8028 Time Management for the Workplace

Prerequisites None
This course is for those who want or need to change habits and routines to gain control of time, accomplish goals, effectively manage responsibilities, and feel productive on a regular basis.  In this interactive course participants will be guided through a self-awareness process that focuses on how time is spent and identifies individual habits and preferences. Skills such as communication, prioritization, and goal setting will be taught, and examples of strategies will be provided for each participant to develop and implement a personalized plan. The strategies can be immediately applied to both personal and professional settings and re-applied as roles and responsibilities change.

Learning Outcomes
After participating in this course, an individual will:

  1. Learn new perspectives and how to efficiently manage time.
  2. Self-evaluate individual preferences, strengths, and assess how time is currently managed.
  3. Learn time management skills and applicable strategies.
  4. Identify change opportunities and develop an action plan to implement new habits and routines that align with goals.

Evaluation
Students will confidentially evaluate this course by completing the Student Evaluation of Class form distributed at the last class session.

Successful Completion
The instructor will evaluate the student’s skills learned using attendance, participation, feedback, testing where appropriate, and projects completed.

100 % attendance is required; 100% attendance is recommended, as no special arrangements will be made for missing class.

% = 2 hours.

Upon successful completion, this course will appear on the student’s Macomb Community College non-credit transcript.
