CSFT-8083 Microsoft PowerPoint 2021

Prerequisites None
Basic computer, keyboarding, and internet skills required. Learn introductory and intermediate PowerPoint skills.  Topics include ribbon interface; document themes; bulleted lists; outlines; formatting text; printing presentations; transitions; clip art and graphics; charts; slide show delivery; editing presentations; handouts; creating hyperlinks; multimedia and sound; PowerPoint tables; sharing files online; finalizing a presentation; and more. Textbook and USB drive required.

  1. Create and apply a document theme to a new presentation.
  2. Add slides and add text to a slide.
  3. Navigate a slide show; add pictures, screenshots, shapes.
  4. Print a presentation.
  5. Add transition effects and animation to objects on a slide show.
  6. Insert charts to display numerical data; create SmartArt diagrams.
  7. Edit document properties; create slide headers and footers.
  8. Edit movies and add movie effects; loop a presentation endlessly.
  9. Insert tables on slides; add and delete rows and columns in tables.
  10. Send a presentation for review via email; edit document properties.

Evaluation
Students will confidentially evaluate this course by completing the Student Evaluation of Classes form distributed at the last class session.

Successful Completion
The instructor will evaluate the student’s skills learned using participation, attendance, feedback, testing where appropriate, and projects completed. 75% attendance is required (6 out of 8 classes); 100% attendance is recommended as no special arrangements will be made for missing class. Upon successful completion, this class will appear on the student’s Macomb Community College non-credit transcript. Students may request the Workplace Computing Skills certificate from the program coordinator once all four classes have been completed (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
