PRDE 2520 - NX Advanced

Credit Hours: 4.00

Prerequisites: PRDE 1520

(replaces PRDE 2500 and PRDE 2510 together but does not equate to either course separately)

This course is designed for the current user of NX. The student will develop parts using expressions, interpart relations, surfacing features, and develop assemblies using advanced techniques. No credit after PRDE 2510.

Billable Contact Hours: 6

OUTCOMES AND OBJECTIVES
Outcome 1: Upon completion of this course, students will create smart design models that are being controlled by expressions.

Objectives: Creating smart models tools in NX the learner will:

  1. Use selected sketcher menus, modeling the part within the time allowed.
  2. Use selected sketcher options, modeling the part within the time allowed.
  3. Use expression menu options, modeling the part within the time allowed.

Outcome 2: Upon completion of this course, students will convert non-parametric models into parametrically controlled models in NX.

Objectives: Converting non-parametric models the learner will:

  1. Use the Synchronous modeling menus to maintain associative properties within the time allowed.
  2. Use modeling menus to create “chunky” solid bodies.
  3. Use modeling menus to create “sheet” bodies.

Outcome 3: Upon completion of this course, students will make design changes utilizing smart modeling techniques in NX.

Objectives: Using smart modeling techniques in NX the learner will:

  1. Use the selected menus within the time allowed to develop smart models.
  2. Use the selected options within the time allowed to properly develop a part.
  3. Demonstrate the proper techniques to edit a part.

Outcome 4: Upon completion of this course, students will utilize curve and surface analysis tools for the generation of quality math.

Objectives: Using the analysis tools the learner will:

  1. Use the selected menus to edit splines and surface tools within the time allowed.
  2. Use the options to verify the complexity and quality of the model within the time allowed.
  3. Modify a part with the time allowed.
