ITCS 2060 - Mobile Game Development


Credit Hours: 3.00
(4 contact hrs)
ITCS-2060 will focus on practical hands-on development of games on handheld devices. The topics covered in Mobile Game Development will be mobile game concepts, mobile game mechanics, mobile game styles, game physics, and mobile game deployment. Students implement all programs and examples on a microcomputer and will deploy them on small devices.

Prerequisites:
ITCS-1950

OUTCOMES AND OBJECTIVES
Outcome 1: Upon completion of this course, students will be able to develop a complete mobile game application.

Objectives: The student will:

  1. Explain the various components of a mobile game application.
  2. Design a mobile user interface (UI).
  3. Implement Application Programming Interfaces (API).
  4. Explain the mobile game application process.

Outcome 2: Upon completion of this course, students will be able to appraise and critique mobile game applications.

Objectives: The student will:

  1. Targeted game development (age, gender, etc.).
  2. Look at it from a monetary prospective.

    2. Screen size.
    3. Display type and resolution.
    4. Image format
    5. Audio and Video format.
  2. Applying gaming concepts for a smaller screen.
