ATW 292D - GMAW (mig) & FCAW (flux cored) Welding 1


The student shall demonstrate proficiency in: GMAW and FACW in various positions, the selection of shielding gasses, the selection of filler metals in carbon steel, aluminum and stainless steel. The student will make proper use of control setting and welding procedures both in the semiautomatic and the automatic models and will use the short circuit arc transfer, the spray transfer, the globular transfer and the pulsed arc (MIG) transfer. The student shall pass bend test of groove weld joints in steel and aluminum in accordance with American Welding Society, AWS D1.1 procedures. (4 contact hrs) South Campus.
