ATW 212 - Welding-Tool & Die Welding


(Formerly AT 266) Tool and die welding is a specialized phase of training separated into four distinct phases: (1) repairing dies (2) compositely fabricating dies (3) correcting design (4) rectifying errors. Included is training in identification of tool steel welding metallurgy (allowing elements and their characteristics) fundamentals of heat-treating (teaching the welder to determine and control temperatures during preheating, welding, and tempering) hardness testing. (2 contact hrs) South Campus.
