ATS 110 - Steam-Boiler Maintenance and Repair


(formerly AT 230.1) A course designed to meet the increasing demand for manpower in the Detroit area power utility field. This course is concerned with maintenance and repair procedures on the boiler proper including tubes, fans, induced and forced, air preheater, superheater and economizers with stress on proper selection of materials and their location. Auxiliaries such as coal pulverizers, coal burners, stage heaters are covered with preventative maintenance in mind. Information on setting machine base plates, sub bases, dowels, surface finishes and tolerances are included. (2 contact hrs) South Campus.
