SPCH 1300 - Voice & Speech Improvement Communication


Individual instruction and drill in voice dynamics and articulation for basic improvement leading to more effective conversation patterns: pitch, rate, volume, and intonation. Emphasis is on American English based on the Kenyon and Knott Pronouncing Dictionary (IPA). Programmed and self-paced labs accommodate the Speech Communication Arts majors and the College Community at large. While advanced English as Second Language students are accepted, this course is NOT designed as a substitute for speech therapy. May be repeated once for a maximum of six credit hours. (3 contact hrs)
