QUAL 1010 - Metrology 1

(formerly QST 101) Introductory class to the quality profession. Principles, ethics, nomenclature, instruments and methods are covered in a format that is approximately 50% “hands-on”. Emphasis on developing skill with hand tools, gauge blocks, and inch/metric systems. Preparation for an entry level job position. Excellent knowledge base for national certification as Certified Mechanical Inspector through ASQ. Math skills recommended but not required. (4 contact hrs) South Campus.
