PLS 292C - Instrumental Methods of Polymer Identification


Course designed to explain the basic structure-property relationship in plastics. The emphasis is on the practical applications of the fundamentals of crystallization, glass transition, deformation, and degradation and how these relate to conventional molding. The relationship between structure, morphology and mechanical properties will be explored using the techniques of Infra-Red spectrophotometry and differential scanning calorimetry.
