PHL 201 - Introduction to Philosophy


This course is designed to encourage students to think, to wonder, to question, to speculate, to reason, to fantasize in the eternal search for wisdom. Basic problems in philosophy that are relevant to all men/women will be studied. Readings encompass ethics, religion, existentialism, idealism, pragmatism and materialism. Topics include: Who am I? What is truth? Free will vs determinism, ethics, religion, meaning, existence and immortality.
