ADN 212 - Maternity Nursing C


Concerned with the application of maternity nursing to the clinical setting based on the stress- adaptation theory. Experience is provided in the labor and delivery nursery and post-partum units. Emphasis is placed on the normal childbearing cycle and the care of the normal neonate. Problems arising during the maternity cycle are explored. Nursing care focuses on utilization of the nursing process to meet the physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs of the maternity patient and related family unit. (15 contact hrs per wk for 8 wks) Center Campus.
