ADN 100 - Fundamentals of Nursing-A


Presents the knowledge and techniques which provide a foundation for other nursing courses. Introduces the nursing process with focus on the assessment phase. Skills necessary for beginning nursing assessment are covered. Basic needs of all patients are introduced and there is focus on the patient’s need for physical and psychosocial comfort and safety. Stress-adaptation, theory is presented and related to homeostasis and health status. Concepts in communication skills are introduced. (4 contact hrs per wk for 4 wks) Center Campus.
