NCT 216 - Compact II Programming - Lathes


Orientation and skill development in using the COMPACT II computer language for controlling the N/C lathe. This course emphasizes workpiece geometry description for lathes, part boundry development, and thread cutting. Students will access the computer system through time share terminals for program compilation and to retrieve the punched paper tape for the N/C lathe. Error diagnosis and program correction are also emphasized. (3 contact hrs) South Campus.
