MMTC 1250 - Manual Machining Principles


(formerly MMT 125) This is an introductory course to manual machining principles. Operations will be conducted on a variety of machine tools which include: the drill press, engine lathe, horizontal and vertical mills, and surface grinder. Through the use of audio visual, lecture, and demonstrations, the student will learn the procedures necessary to set up and run each of the machines. Procedures will include reading the part print, setting up the machine tool, performing the proper operation, and holding the specified tolerance. This is a hands-on machining course that allows the student to develop proper machining habits. (4 contact hrs) South Campus.
