LEGA 2190 - Legal Writing


(formerly LAT 219) Preparation of various legal documents and products, such as: letters, memorandums of law, briefs of law, and other legal documents which legal assistants are called upon to produce by their attorney employers. Students taking this course must possess knowledge of basic law, legal terminology, legal research skills, word processing skills, and English composition competency. Emphasis will be placed on using Plain English in drafting legal written products and ethical issues in good legal writing. (2 contact hrs)
