ATWD 2400 - Maintenance Welding

Credit Hours: 3.00


Prerequisites: ATWD 1150  or related work experience

The student shall know the welding procedure and demonstrate proficiency in: soldering, silver brazing, aluminum brazing, hard surfacing, spray metallizing arc cutting, cast iron welding, plasma arc welding, flame bending and straightening and plastic welding. The student shall complete three repair projects complete with written procedures.

OUTCOMES AND OBJECTIVES
Outcome 1: Upon completion of this course, students will be able to demonstrate welding procedures and proficiency in gas welding.

Objectives:

  1. Demonstrate proficiency in soldering.
  2. Braze with silver, aluminum, silicon bronze.
  3. Weld hard surface with gas materials.
  4. Use flame bending and straightening.
  5. Write welding procedures for the above welding assignments.

Outcome 2: Upon completion of this course, students will be able to demonstrate welding procedures and proficiency with arc welding.

Objectives:

  1. Weld cast iron with arc, tig, braze
  2. Weld cast aluminum with arc, tig, mig.
  3. Write welding procedures for the above welding assignments.
