Provides the student with knowledge of basic skills; philosophy of team play, style of play, and on-court experience practicing and using skills in game situations.

Contact Hours: 2 Billable Contact Hours: 2 OUTCOMES AND OBJECTIVES Outcome 1: Upon completion of this course, students will be able to apply the rules of basketball in a court situation.
Objectives:
- Identify rules of basketball.
- Describe the rules of basketball.
- Identify basketball vocabulary.
- Discuss strategies used in basketball.
- Identify court positions.
Outcome 2: Upon completion of this course, students will be able to perform basic basketball skills.
Objectives:
- Pass the ball.
- Dribble the ball.
- Shoot the ball.
- Rebound.
- Apply basketball skills in group situations.
- Apply strategies and court positions for traversing the court.
