WHES 1570 - Soccer

(formerly PHED 1570) Soccer techniques, skills and tactics are taught through game related experiences. Physical conditioning is also emphasized throughout the course. South Campus.

OUTCOMES AND OBJECTIVES
Outcome 1: Upon completion of this course, students will be able to apply soccer rules throughout field situations.

Objectives:

  1. Identify soccer rules on exams.
  2. Demonstrate application of soccer rules through on court situations.
  3. Identify soccer terms and vocabulary definitions on exams.
  4. Incorporate soccer terms and vocabulary into class discussions.
  5. Identify strategies and field positions on exams.

Outcome 2: Upon completion of this course, students will be able to perform basic soccer skills in game situations.

Objectives: Students will perform the following soccer skills:

  1. Handle the ball.
  2. Pass the ball.
  3. Tend the goal.
  4. Shoot the ball.
  5. Footwork.
  6. Apply soccer skills in group situations.
  7. Demonstrate strategies and tactics for offensive and defensive court positions.

Outcome 3: Upon completion of this course, students will be able to perform conditioning drills with proper footwork.

Objectives:

  1. Perform defensive drills.
  2. Perform offensive drills.
  3. Perform aerobic activity
