WHES 1070 - Golf


Credit Hours: 2.00
(2 contact hrs)
(formerly PHED 1070) Provides the student with knowledge concerning the golf swing, rules, course design, and etiquette. Students develop basic skills in the grip, chipping, full swing, and putting.

Prerequisites:
None

OUTCOMES AND OBJECTIVES
Outcome 1: Upon completion of this course, students will be able to utilize golf terminology.

Objectives:

  1. Explain golf terms.
  2. Define golf terminology.

Outcome 2: Upon completion of this course, students will be able to demonstrate golf skills at the basic level.

Objectives:

  1. Demonstrate grip.
  2. Demonstrate stance.
  3. Demonstrate posture.
  4. Demonstrate swing.

Outcome 3: Upon completion of this course, students will be able to demonstrate safety techniques while on the golf course.

Objectives:

  1. Identify potential hazards.
  2. Use equipment properly.
  3. Practice proper course etiquette.

Outcome 4: Upon completion of this course, students will be able to demonstrate appropriate behavior on the golf course.

Objectives:

  1. Identify course etiquette.
  2. Recognize rules of the game.
  3. Keep score.
