MHC 102 - Community Structures


A survey of cultures and subcultures in the service area and how they relate to human behavior. Problems, as well as cultural contributions of major racial and ethnic groups, subcultures of rural and urban poverty are the major areas of concentration. Characteristics of special populations included are: (1) college students; (2) parents and children; (3) physically ill; (4) chronically ill; (5) the bereaved; (6) substance abusers; (7) emotionally and physically impaired; (8) economically disadvantaged and (9) Vietnam Veteran. (4 contact hrs) Center Campus.
