Introduction to Organic Chemistry emphasizing classes and functional groups of organic compounds, classification of organic compounds using infrared spectrophotometric method, and the reactions of hydrocarbons. This course continues with the study of general classes of organic substance using classical and instrumental methods and synthetic methods in organic chemistry. Fall semester only. (13 contact hrs)
