CIS 261 - IMS Programming 1


Major areas of study will include objectives of data base management systems, randomly and sequentially accessing records methods for data base loading, multiple positioning, command codes, and message processing. To gain practical experience the student will develop application programs using either COBOL or PL/1 programming language in an IMS DL/1 data base environment. Student programs will be entered on time sharing terminals. (3 contact hrs) (Taught in the Fall Semester of odd years only)
