APA 121 - Jewelry and Metalwork - Centrifugal Casting


Design and production of jewelry, functional objects, and small sculpture by casting methods. Original models are made of wax (possibly in combination with other organic media) by carving and construction. Embedment models may be prepared for bi-metal casting; after investment and burn-out, works are cast centrifugally, then refined and finished. May be taken twice for credit. (3 contact hrs) Center Campus.
